How to customise Defect quick access

Defect quick access controls what inspectors see when they tag photos on site — the surface bar (Wall, Floor, Ceiling…), the one-tap defect chips, and the default text that flows into legends and photo captions. You can tailor-make a well customised capture experience with your own preset capture elements, active defects, descriptions, and photo labels so your team spends less time typing and more time shooting.

Changes apply to everyone in your company once saved. Admins can edit from the web admin portal or the mobile app.

What you can edit

  1. Capture element — the surfaces in the capture bar (for example Wall, Floor, Ceiling, Door frame). Reorder, rename, add, or remove elements.
  2. Active defect — the one-tap chips shown for each element (for example Hairline crack, Mould stain, Hollow). Reorder, add, or remove defects per element.
  3. Active defect description — default legend wording for that defect (for example “Fine crack on the surface of the wall”). Inspectors can still edit legends later in report assembly.
  4. Active defect photo label — the short caption under the photo in the PDF grid (for example “Crackline seem on the wall”). Keep it brief — up to 40 characters.

Tip: Set up quick access before your team goes on site. Inspectors then tap your company’s standard chips instead of typing the same legend text on every unit. Element and active-defect limits depend on your plan — see pricing.
