Highlights from recent Defiq Inspect releases — mobile app, web office, and
report tools. We ship improvements regularly for inspectors in Malaysia and
Singapore.
Version 1.2.6
Export for Developer — reliable large ZIPs on big units
Large developer exports (300+ photos, full evidence) finish even
when individual photos fail — a skip list after download shows which codes or
report pages to export separately.
Category collages handle memory better on big jobs; if a 3×2 sheet
cannot be built, those photos are packed as individual JPEGs instead.
ZIP layout uses area folders only — no extra subfolders from defect
labels when you unzip.
After a skip list, manually select only the missing photos and
export again without picking every area.
Export step: Share ZIP and Back to review on one
compact row under Download ZIP.
On phone, category collages are limited to 50 photos (no All) — for
a full-unit collage export, use a computer at
app.defiq.app; individual photos and report
pages unchanged.
Offline project list, reconnect refresh, and field reliability
Project list offline — every project page you loaded while online
stays available after you close the app (up to 100 newest); no need to scroll from
scratch on every cold start.
Back online without force-quitting — the newest projects refresh
automatically when connectivity returns.
Friendly offline message replaces raw Firestore error text on Home
and Account.
Project View no longer shows Unclaimed / 0 photos for rooms that
already have cached defects when you go offline.
Area View opens the room title immediately instead of a blank
spinner when the network is slow or blocked.
Fix Android Home crash on organisations with many projects (~100) —
the list now loads the newest 25 at a time instead of holding the full collection in
memory.
Load more on scroll to see older projects; search filters among
loaded rows (title, client, unit, address) with hyphen-friendly matching.
Hint: Filter loaded projects… — scroll to load older jobs before
searching for a unit that is not on the first page.
Retention badges on mobile reflect the projects you have loaded;
web office unchanged.
Faster app open, Electrical capture preview, and admin template fixes
App open — if sign-in hangs on a spinner, you get
Try again after 12 seconds instead of force-quitting; your
session and pending photo uploads are preserved.
Electrical, Floor trap, and Spirit Level — post-capture screen
keeps the photo visible while you edit Description and Photo label; keyboard
no longer overflows the Save bar.
Templates → Area layouts — duplicate built-in Electrical, Floor
trap, and Spirit Level without permission errors.
Sequential register live preview — section template editor shows
register tables (S/N · Location · Description · Photo) when your org uses
sequential register layout; socket preview includes the LED table; ponding
includes pass/fail.
Built-in section templates open as View section template
(custom copies remain editable).
Correct defect descriptions when you change active defect between photos
Fix legend DESCRIPTION in sequential register reports when you
change the active defect chip before the next photo — descriptions no longer
glue the previous defect’s text onto the new shot.
Existing reports heal automatically when you open Report
Assembly or regenerate PDF / Word — no manual re-entry needed.
Your own inspector notes for the current defect are unchanged; only mistaken
leftover tag lines from the prior photo are removed.
Company page order, assembly headlines, and sequential register reports
Report design → Page order — Professional+ admins drag optional
report slots (property info, layout plan, colour-tag legend, defect summary,
methodology) between TOC and area defects; Cover, TOC, Defects, and Disclaimer
stay locked. Reset to Defiq MVP restores the default company
order.
Assembly unit hero — headline shows the project title
(residency / development name); second line shows block, level, and unit number
(e.g. Block 2A, 12 - 12).
Sequential register — Socket / Electrical, Spirit Level, and
Water Ponding export as register tables (not only photo grids) when your org
uses sequential register layout; S/N continues across sections in assembly
order.
Socket register pages — Malaysia socket tester LED / voltage
table at the bottom of every socket register page (including
overflow pages when you have many socket photos).
Water ponding register — START and END photos as two register
rows with pass/fail banner and statement below (same as photo-grid ponding).
Report cover branding, Word tables, and faster area thumbs
Restore Defiq Inspect branding on default report covers after
customizing your company profile or switching back from free canvas.
Free-canvas PDF exports show your report title when the canvas
uses the title placeholder.
Better cover detail centering when property addresses are long;
Word cover company name stays on the first page.
Word reports: table of contents, colour-tag legend, and defect
summary tables use the same column widths as PDF.
Report design studio: free-canvas cover loads correctly on first
visit (no browser refresh needed).
Faster defect thumbnails in area lists on new phones and
cellular (800px thumbs, not full report images).
Version 1.1.9
Move to area, safe room rename, and legend clarity
Move to area keeps photos in the room you chose after Area
Configuration is saved.
Rename rooms safely — photos and area letters stay put; reports
and assembly show the new room name.
Legend codes on grouped defect pages list only the photos on
that page (no misleading A03–A08-style ranges).
Same Active Defect Description now prints on every photo in the
run in PDF and Word — not only the first page of the group.
Fix black screen when leaving Settings with the Home tab.
Table of contents page numbers stay correct when defect summary
or TOC content spans more than one page.
Version 1.1.8
Annotate after Save, honest photo sync, and area list repair
Fix annotation failing after you save a photo and edit it
later from the area list (especially on mobile data).
Photo sync status now matches between phone and office — export
waits until photos are ready, with photo codes shown when something is stuck.
Finish sync with thumbnails when report-quality upload did not
finish but a thumbnail is already on the server — complete the report now,
retake later for full evidence if needed.
Upload progress stays visible until report-quality photos reach
the server (not just the small preview).
Area Configuration lists every room with correct letters
(matches Project View); fixes missing rows after rapid room setup.
Fix creating a new project when you select only one inspection
date.
Version 1.1.7
Report legends on first export, 52 rooms, and multi-day jobs
Report preview and Word export include legend tables on every
defect photo page on the first try — no second export needed.
Report Assembly shows Loading… while cover and legend rows sync
(no misleading Empty status); legend counts stay correct on first open.
More reliable Word layout on long inspection reports.
Area Configuration supports up to 52 rooms (letters A–Z, then
AA–AZ) for large landed homes.
Upload multiple layout plans (photos and PDFs); multi-page PDFs
flow through the report with correct table-of-contents page numbers.
Record up to three inspection days when a large unit takes more
than one site visit.
Version 1.1.6
Per-photo descriptions, project restore, and area sync
Manual defect Descriptions on capture stay in the report
legend and no longer overwrite sibling photos with the same defect type.
Report pages split when descriptions differ, so long notes
and photo grids fit correctly on each page.
Admins can restore a completed or archived project back to
active from Project View.
Higher Defect quick access limits on your plan (e.g.
Professional: 25 surfaces, 30 active defects per surface) — update the app
to 1.1.6 to use them.
Area Configuration no longer freezes when another device
changed the room list — choose reload or save yours safely.
PDF and Word export polish, landed-property titles, field camera
PDF and Word exports: Defiq attribution footer on every page
for Starter and Professional (Business+ unchanged).
Word reports open reliably in Microsoft Word; share uses your
report filename; web Share no longer silently downloads on desktop.
Clearer project titles when unit number is not used; cover
page can be ready without block or unit no.
iOS: choose layout plan photos from your gallery.
Field camera 0.5× ultra-wide on supported phones; sticky
element and defect repeat correctly on Save & shoot next.
Version 1.1.4
Area Configuration for multi-inspector jobs
Defect photos stay with the right room when you rename,
reorder, or add areas during an inspection.
Queued and offline uploads follow their room after area list
changes — not just the letter on screen.
Several inspectors on one unit: late uploads land in the
correct area.
Deleting a room while photos are still uploading no longer leaves
ghost defects on the next room that inherits that letter.
Confirm before deleting a room; choose Reload or Save if the area list
changed on another device.
Version 1.1.3
Quick access, colour-tag legend, cover design, and field capture
Higher quick-access limits (e.g. Professional: 18 capture
elements, 12 active defects per surface); fix for false errors when adding
elements.
Optional client-facing colour-tag legend in the report
(Pro+ admin, opt-in).
Free-canvas cover align, font size, and save fixes; Word
export uses your canvas cover; long mid-report disclaimers keep correct
table-of-contents page numbers.
Field capture: confirm room after idle pause; Switch area
from the camera header; Move to area for mis-tagged photos.
Version 1.1.2
Clearer defect reports and pilot fixes
Sequential register descriptions now match photo-grid
legends.
Longer Descriptions on photo-grid reports; clearer limits for sequential
register layout.
Report photos stay true 4:3 — no more squeezed or stretched
shots in PDF preview and export.
Editing an existing defect shows Description and Photo label
for the same active defect.
Opening the app offline no longer spins forever — your
session restores as usual.
Version 1.1.1
Pilot fixes — annotations, capture, and report assembly
Annotated photos now stay visible in Area View, report
assembly, and PDF — including when you annotate while a photo is still
uploading.
More reliable capture Description and Photo labels with
defect quick-access presets.
Report Assembly improvements — empty rooms stay deleted, no
duplicate disclaimer pages, and easier page reorder.
Friendlier recovery if something goes wrong, plus web office polish for
Professional+ admins.
