Built with inspector feedback — software shaped by defect inspectors

Defiq Inspect is not a closed product roadmap written in a boardroom. We always welcome suggestions and ideas from defect inspectors, report makers, and inspection company owners — so the software fits how real firms work in Malaysia, Singapore, and beyond.

Our aim is simple: Defiq Inspect should become the gold standard for every property defect inspector. That only happens when the people who walk unfinished towers, code defects room by room, and submit evidence to developers tell us what still hurts.

Why we listen to inspection companies

Every firm has a slightly different operating model:

Generic “inspection apps” rarely absorb that variance. We treat inspector feedback as product requirements — not feature requests to ignore after launch. See why firms need purpose-built tooling in Why defect inspection companies need software.

Features that started as inspector suggestions

These are not hypothetical ideas. They shipped because inspectors and office staff asked for them.

Sequential Register area layout (client reports)

Some inspection companies — and their end clients — prefer a sequential defect register in the report: one evidence row after another with description text, rather than only a fixed photo grid. That layout is now available as a configurable defect evidence / area layout option so firms can match the handover pack style their market expects.

Admins on Professional+ can explore report design and area layout controls on the web. Product walkthrough: How it works · area setup help: Area layouts.

Category collage photos and report-page images (Export for Developer)

Developer portals often cap how many photos you can upload. Re-picking and renaming hundreds of camera-roll files by hand is a second job after the inspection.

Inspectors asked for smarter packaging. Export for Developer now supports flows that include:

That means office staff can submit a curated pack without rebuilding the job from scratch. Related guide: How to write a defect inspection report · help: Share / export reports.

More ideas still welcome

Sequential Register and developer export collages are examples — not a closed list. Capture habits, legend workflows, PDF branding, team handoffs, and portal formats all vary by company. If something slows your unit down, we want to hear it.

How to send a suggestion

  1. WhatsApp — fastest path: message us from Contact (+65 9699 7642). Mention your company size, market (MY / SG), and the workflow that hurts.
  2. Emailsupport@defiq.app with screenshots or a sample anonymised report page if helpful.
  3. After you try the product — use the free trial or Starter path on pricing, then tell us what still does not match your firm’s report style.

You do not need a polished product brief. A clear description of “what we do today” versus “what we need in the PDF / export” is enough.

What we do with feedback

Not every idea ships overnight. We prioritise changes that:

  1. Help many inspection companies, not only one custom one-off
  2. Fit the multi-tenant product (config and templates — not hardcoded per-client code)
  3. Keep field capture fast and report quality high for Malaysia- and Singapore-style VP / handover work

When something ships, it often appears on Product updates. For deeper positioning of the category, see Software for defect inspection.

Built to be the gold standard — try it

Defiq Inspect aims to be the operating system defect inspectors trust for capture, coding, assembly, branded PDF, and developer export — shaped by the people who use it every week.

Frequently asked questions

Do you really take feature requests from inspectors?

Yes. Several shipped capabilities — including Sequential Register-style report layouts and category collage / report-page options in Export for Developer — came from inspector and agency feedback. We cannot promise every request, but we actively collect and prioritise them.

How should I describe my suggestion so it is useful?

Tell us the job (client PDF vs developer portal), what you do today (Word, WhatsApp, another app), and what “done” looks like (example: one photo + description per row, or 3×2 collages per issue type). Screenshots help.

Will my company’s report layout stay private?

Your project data and org configuration stay in your tenant. Feedback may inspire product features available to other customers as general options (for example a layout choice), not as a copy of your confidential client reports.

Is Defiq Inspect only for large agencies?

No. Solo inspectors and small firms benefit first from faster capture-to-PDF. Larger teams also get multi-inspector claiming and web office assembly. See pricing for Starter through Business.
